Analysis of known means and methods of stopping bleeding shows that
the effectiveness of medication is significantly higher compared to mechanical methods of achieving hemostasis, although it cannot completely replace surgical hemostasis in massive bleeding from large veins and especially arteries. Since during hostilities, injuries at work and other emergency situations, as a rule, help must be provided urgently, local hemostatics of contact action are preferred. These tools do not require special skills when using them, therefore, if they are available in the first-aid kit, the victim will be able to help himself in the event of a minor injury and stop the bleeding in time, and in case of critical bleeding, the tool can be used by any person who is near the victim.

“PLANTOR” is a sterile hemostatic drug in powder form, which includes biologically active components of mineral, phyto- and organic origin (aerosil, carrageenan, calcium gluconate, tricalcium phosphate, dry plant extracts, apilak, quaternary ammonium compounds, volatile oils etc.).

“PLANTOR” on the bleeding surface forms a blood clot in the wound due to the biophysical process of liquid absorption. Thanks to the innovative composition, the product has a pronounced antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, regenerating, wound-healing effect, which favorably distinguishes it from pharmacotherapeutic analogues, which, by the way, are mainly of foreign origin. Also, an important advantage of analogues is the presence of biodegradable properties, which leads to its complete biotransformation. Unlike antifibrinolytic drugs such as aminocaproic and tranexamic acid, the drug is practically harmless, it does not have numerous inherent side effects on the main vital organs and systems of the human body.

It is a high-tech innovative product of the complex work of Ukrainian medical and pharmaceutical scientists with the use of available ingredients and domestic technologies and main active components, which makes it possible to quickly establish its mass production at domestic industrial facilities and reduce its cost .

A complex of preclinical studies was carried out on the “PLANTOR” tool, which experimentally proved its safety, the absence of undesirable reactions during use and promising types of pharmacological action on laboratory animals.

The clinical approbation of the “PLANTOR” tool, which was carried out at the pre-hospital and early hospital stages of providing medical care and directly in the conditions of field surgery, convincingly proved its effectiveness in temporarily stopping external bleeding at the pre-hospital and early hospital stages in the Medical Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, two research institutes of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Central and Eastern Medical Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 4 specialized medical institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
It was found that when the hemostatic agent “PLANTOR” came into contact with blood, plasma was actively absorbed and a blood clot was formed, which, without combining with the blood and entering the blood vessels, actively absorbed the liquid, swelled and stuck together into a single thick mass-clot, which adhered well to the edges of the wound and stopped bleeding, which significantly reduced blood loss.
The presence of the bacteriological purity of the product and the antiseptic component reliably prevented the development of wound infection. It has been proven that “PLANTOR” does not slow down regeneration, does not affect the natural healing of the wound, and with subsequent use, the wounds are healed with primary tension. It did not cause anaphylaxis, inflammatory complications, made it possible to reduce the time of tourniquet conversion. Able to stop bleeding under conditions of hypothermia and in the presence of antiaggregants and anticoagulants.
Also, the toxic effect of this hemostatic contact on the victim and on the one who provided help was not recorded. Regulatory documentation has been developed for the “PLANTOR” tool (technical conditions of Ukraine TU U 32.5-42574330-003:2023), which were approved by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (conclusion of the state sanitary-epidemiological examination No. 12.2-18-2/ 4369 dated 04/28/2023) and registered by the authorities of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in accordance with current legislation. Together with the Military Medical Academy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a device was developed for the use of “PLANTOR” in complex surgical cases of wound lesions.

The manufacturer of the patented tool “PLANTOR”, as well as the owner of its manufacturing technology and regulatory documentation in Ukraine, is the Ukrainian LLC “Sokolovskiy-Fortuna”.

Thus, the organization of serial production of the “PLANTOR” tool for the needs of the medical service of the Armed Forces will allow not only to optimize the provision of staged medical assistance to servicemen, to preserve their lives and health, but also to reduce the costs of purchasing first aid for tactical medicine, create an alternative to imported pharmacotherapeutic agents.

In addition, the use of domestic drugs in practical medicine will contribute to the development of science-intensive industries of Ukraine, in particular, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
